Astounding dress from the later teens. Just unbelievably great. Lace bodice with mesh sleeves. Stunning Arts + Crafts style embroidery and super long matching waist/hip tasseled tie, this could also be worn as a scarf. Fairly loose through the body with some gathering at the hips and a snap here to secure the long tie. I imagine that this dress was stored safely away with no dampness for many years due to the incredible condition of the wool skirt & sleeves, possibly a silk wool blend. Sleeves are lined with an ecru silk to match the mesh & lace sleeves. See below for all condition notes. Layaway available. A DREAM!

Condition notes: I could see this in a museum exhibit. Wonderful overall. See close up of a few small tears in the mesh on the left sleeve, the mesh itself is a little discolored (tea-stain in color). The mesh is fragile and might be best replaced if you'd like to wear the piece and I have not attempted to clean it. In my opinion, the dress is best for display, or for a serious collector of early eras, rather than worn too much (great for a photo shoot if worn carefully) given the bodice is entirely constructed of very delicate lace. Some fraying to the silk trim at the edges of the lace. I have never seen such antique fabric in this condition overall, ever. Remarkable piece of fashion history.
