1910s Silk Chiffon Dress
Beautiful silk chiffon dress from the late 1910s, a truly wonderful style! Linear beaded detail on the bodice from shoulder to below the waist where the beads meet in a little dangling tassel, one is losing some beads but holding the tassel structure just fine. The bodice and high waist snap across to secure, sailor style collar and very nice tucks through the skirt. Overall the fabric is in great shape. Those elbows are fabulous! There are no holes or tears in the silk chiffon. The "as is" here is in the lining of the bodice where the silk has shattered, it does still function and can be hooked across or worn open. This damaged interior lining could actually be removed and I debated doing that as the dress could easily be worn without it, you'd just need a slip or camisole underneath. A few loose snaps otherwise a fantastic piece of fashion history, wearable for a special occasion or a wonderful display/study piece.
