1920s Floral Lamé Coat
An incredible, very wearable lamé coat from the 1920s, wonderful floral pattern with sweeping foliage and flowers, just beautiful. My favorite aspect of the coat is the different sleeves, the right sleeve is ruffled near the cuff whereas the left sleeve tapers to a point just above the cuff, great detail! No closures, original label MacLeod, Fredericks of New York, please note I re-attached the label after removing the silk lining which was damaged. Even though this lining is removed the coat is completely wearable with the fleecy cozy layer underneath the lamé, it is extremely soft and comfortable, a very cozy and snug piece which in my opinion looks as good with jeans as it does a fancy dress! I cleaned the coat by soaking it and treating some foxing at the sleeve and shoulder. These are now faded and not too noticeable overall, please see close ups of these areas. The color originally was likely a lighter "champagne" and the overall tone is now darker from years of storage but still a remarkably lovely deco piece.
