1930s Golden Braid Dress
Incredible 1930s golden silk satin dress with braided waist and collar. I rescued this dress from a damaged pile and though not in pristine condition it presents just beautifully and was well worth saving in my opinion! The dress was hemmed from it's original length. Open back with rhinestone dress clip hook at the back of the neck. The dress was stitched in 3 areas near the waist on the open area so you can see very slightly where these stitches sat, a pretty belt buckle was probably attached in the rear waist also. Main areas to note are as follows: an area near the left bust seems like it may have had a pin placed here as there are 3 pinholes/tiny splits which appear black, one small separation in satin below left bust, a little scuffing at shoulder and a faint matte patch (only noticeable upon close inspection), a few tiny splits in the skirt also but these are fairly surface and are not holes. See close ups. Worn with care and within the measurements listed below the dress should be just fine for occasional fancy outings! bear in mind there are no closures so the dress will need to go over your head.
