An Artist's Palette / Winter of 1940

This beautiful little oil painting stopped me in my tracks. An artist's palette, background painting (of a figure?!), flowers & a teapot. Lovely colors & great brushwork. Painted on canvas board with hand-writing on the rear "Still life study, painted winter 1940", possibly one other word in there but area has worn. A very faint address in PA is also written on the back. Signed but a little difficult to read, appears to be T or F Wallman. 

condition: Painting is in great condition, deserves a re-framing. Frame itself has suffered some damage but does not detract from the painting and works just fine.
