Vivid Stare Portrait | 1937

Absolutely love this painting, the vivid brushwork is just beautiful with dramatic shadowing on her body and clothing. Love the jewelry details and intense gaze. I had assumed the painting was mid-century but it is marked with '37 and B or D Osyczka. Canvas is stretched directly onto frame. Fantastic piece. Fairly lightweight frame so would hang easily with wire added or light enough to lean on a table or shelf. Oil or blend on canvas. 

*I did find a painter from the period with that name ( https://osyczka.com/biography/ ) but as he was born in 1921, seems very young to produce this portrait.
