Shu Dick Ju Portrait / c.1960s

Wonderful acrylic on board portrait with vivid colors by New England artist Shu Dick Ju, b. Canton, China in 1934. Shu Dick Ju was a watercolor artist who made a living creating art for a greeting card company after graduating from the School of the Fine Arts in Boston in 1962. Today, his work resides in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield, MA. I was unable to find information about Frances Ju, his much-beloved wife according to his obituary (and original seller of this painting), but the seller of the painting told me Frances was also a greeting card artist (this portrait came directly from the estate). Shu Dick Ju passed away at 87 years of age, I love this portrait and wonder if it is Frances Ju herself. Painted on board and signed on the rear side.
